PAYNEHAM Norwood Union finally broke the shackles with a good come from behind 18-point win over Modbury to keep its finals hopes alive.

Nick Jolly was the catalyst with five goal while Dylan Auciello continued his stellar debut year for the Falcons.

This week Payneham Norwood Union will venture to Adelaide Uni in another must win clash for both teams.

The Blacks were put to the sword by Prince Alfred Old Collegians last week to the tune of 11 goals despite the best efforts of Damian Cunningham.

St. Peters Old Collegians finally had reason to celebrate notching a 12-point win over embattled Salisbury North.

Ultra-consistent Sebastian Wiech was best on ground in Saints’ first win.

Luke Trenorden continues to be the main threat in front of the big sticks adding another three goals to take his season tally to 22.

This week SPOC hosts Port Districts, which is coming of a high scoring 33-point loss at Tea Tree Gully.

Mitchell Gaffney was the star and should be able to get the Magpies back on the winners’ list this week.

Modbury led for much of the day over Payneham Norwood Union due to the form of Matt Fogden and Brayden Denmead and has another tough assignment this week when it plays the Gullies in a local derby.

The game is at Athlestone following Modbury losing the rights to the home game following an earlier penalty from the league for a member of the crowd abusing an umpire at one of its home games.

Salisbury North cannot take a trick at the moment.

An on-field indiscretion in the B-grade has seen to docked points from the A-grade, which has sent them plummeting to the bottom of the table.

Coupled with a loss to the bottom team last week and the Hawks will be very keen to make amends.

They face a Goodwood team which was no match for ladder leaders Rostrevor.

Nicholas Burgess was the best.

I’m tipping a huge upset in this one and for all of the Hawks dramas to galvanise the group and an unlikely victory at the Hawks Nest.

Rostrevor’s solid win came on the back of the midfield dominance of Craig Holm and the contribution of Daniel Mccallum.

They host PAOC in the game of the round. The Reds’ 11-goal win was chiefly due to

former Glenelg tall Jake Pitt slotting eight goals of the best and Adam Perryman controlling the midfield.

I’ll tip ROC in a close one.
