THE battle for the final two spots in the division one finals series are still up for grabs and Port

Districts, Payneham and Goodwood will be leaving no stone unturned to ensure they leave nothing to chance and secure passage to the major round.

Ultimately percentage may be the difference.

Salisbury North will say goodbye to the top-flight competition as it cannot avoid relegation in the final round while its opponent St Peter’s Old Collegians will be the other side playing in division two next season.

Both teams suffered losses in the penultimate round in excess of 10 goals.

I’ll back the Hawks to take the points at home.

Adelaide Uni had a loss to Port on the weekend that ended its finals aspirations.

Seb Paynter was a star in the midfield but couldn’t lift the Blacks to victory.

They take on Prince Alfred Old Collegians, which easily accounted for SPOC – Cameron Graetz was the standout.

The potential of back-to-back glory is starting to look a real possibility for the Old Reds and they will win this one.

Goodwood takes on Rostrevor and will need to win to keep their finals aspirations alive.

Their 23-point win over Modbury last week was on the back of a B.O. G display from Jack Carter.

Rostrevor had a 12 goal win over the Hawks with William O’Malley best and key forward Heath Commane bagging seven goals.

Logic suggests top-ranked team Rostrevor will win but the Saints will be throwing everything, even the kitchen sink, at their opponents.

Port Districts will be aware that anything but a win may cost them their finals spot.

Anthony Carlile is having a late-season purple patch and led the Dizzy’s to a crucial four-goal win over Uni on the weekend.

The Magpies take on Tea Tree Gully, which fell to Payneham Norwood Union by around six goals.

Cameron Tiggemann gave a lot of run and carry and was named as Gullies’ best.

While it’s a must-win match for Port, Tea Tree Gully can only finish third.

That incentive may get Port over the line at home.

Modbury had a 23-point loss at the hands of Goodwood.

Christopher Burns continues his consistent season and was best for the Hawks.

They host an inform Falcons, who knocked off the Hawks’ northeast rivals by 35

points last week.

Gaelic football prodigy Harrison Pride was outstanding kicking two goals from a back pocket and won the best on ground medal on an occasion were both clubs raised awareness for Motor Neurone Disease.

PNU needs to winby more than what Goodwood wins by to hold fifth spot.
