Adelaide Footy League: Nine News Division 5 Round 4 review

HOPE Valley will be eager to return to the winners circle when they face undefeated Lockleys at Hope Valley Oval.

HOPE Valley will be eager to return to the winners circle when they face undefeated Lockleys at Hope Valley Oval.

After a disappointing defeat to Greenacres at the weekend, the Demons need to bounce back, however, they will face an almighty battle trying to conquer to the Lockleys juggernaut. Lockleys remain undefeated after three impressive victories and possess a potent forward line, boasting the highest scoring forward line in the competition.

Hope Valley’s inconsistency thus far is a worry and Lockleys will be too strong.

Undefeated and sitting equal top, Glenunga is proving to be a formidable force in 2017.

On the back of three consecutive victories against rivals Kenilworth, Woodville South and CBC Old Collegians, the Rams, along with Lockleys and Blackfriars, are the team to beat.

This week, they face a Rosewater outfit which recorded its first victory at the weekend against Woodville South.

Inaccuracy has plagued the Bulldogs season thus far and cost them significantly in both games, however, their accuracy was the catalyst to their victory.

Glenunga’s defence has been rock solid all year and reinforced by a silky and classy midfield led by Guy Ward and Xavier Larcombe should be convincing winners.

Jubilant scenes erupted at Edward Smith Reserve at the weekend, after Greenacres recorded a buoyant win against Hope Valley.

Against the odds, the Dragons out muscled and out-classed a disappointing Hope Valley to run out winners by 18 points.

The Dragons travel to winless Woodville South, quietly confident they can record back-to-back victories.

Woodville South have been disappointing thus far, failing to sting four quarters of football together and in order to record its first win of the season, will have to rectify that.

After back-to-back defeats, Pooraka will be desperate to return to the winners list when they face CBC Old Collegians at Lindblom Park.

Poor conversion in front of goal was the Bulls down fall against Kenilworth, costing them victory.

CBC narrowly fell short of an upset victory against Glenunga storming home from seven goals down to reduce the deficit to under a goal, but ran out legs late in their clash.

At home, Pooraka will prove too strong.

Blackfriars Old Scholars will have to contend with a spirted Kenilworth side after the Kookaburras upstaged Pooraka.

The Hounds narrowly fell short against Lockleys in a top-of- the-table encounter and should bounce back to resign Kenilworth to a third defeat in 2017.
