WOODVILLE South has stunned an undermanned Glenunga to record a resounding 19-point triumph to breathe life back into their season.

The Cats made all the running in the first term, cutting open a shell-shocked Rams side with precision field kicking, however, their goal kicking let them down, only mustering 3.5 (23). Woodville South’s pressure and control of the play kept the Rams goalless in first quarter for the first time in 2017.

Trailing by as much as 53 points mid-way through the second term, Glenunga closed within a goal late in the final quarter, however, Woodville South responded, kicking the last two goals to earn a valuable two points.

In-form Blackfriars Old Scholars forward Antonio Scaffidi-Muta kicked a bag of 10 goals as the Hounds went on to record a thumping 106-point trouncing of Greenacres.

The undermanned Dragons battled all day to contain a rampant Blackfriars side which has rekindled its early season form and asserted itself as genuine premiership contender.

CBC Old Collegians has sent an ominous warning to the rest of the competition after the Dolphins emphatically defeated Kenilworth by 120 points in the east Parklands.

Undefeated since round six, the Dolphins have cemented their spot in the top three and were a class above their opponents.

Their ability to press and strangle their opposition has been a highlight of their season and an even spread of goal kickers, demonstrated by the eleven they had at the weekend makes them a formidable outfit.

Lockleys returned to the winners’ list following its commanding victory against finals aspirant Pooraka at Lockleys Oval.

Despite trailing by three points at the first change, Lockleys went on to kick 17 of the next 25 goals to record a comfortable 53-point win.

Carl Mickan was unstoppable kicking six goals for the home side whilst Luke Detullio was named best afield while Emmett Cashel and Ryan Langcake were also prominent contributors. The Loss for the Bulls was an eye opener as they still have a lot to improve on to challenge the top sides.

Hope Valley has strung consecutive victories together for the first time since round two after a dominant four-quarter display against eight placed Rosewater.

The Demons extended their advantage at each interval to produce 48-point triumph.

Devin Payne, Lee Duggan and Jayke Hellmanns continue to lead the way brilliantly for Hope Valley.
