The second-placed Reds lost their first game of the season when they found Brighton too strong in their match at Brighton last week, 14.12 (96) to 9.8 (62).
Andrew Ainger again showed class to kick six goals, while Mitchell Harvey and Ben George also contributed.
Walkerville held out Mitcham at Walkerville, the Cats winning by 18 points with Matthew Kelson best. At home it’s the Reds by 38-50 points.
Plympton and Brighton looks an intriguing match at Plympton.
The Bulldogs have been solid, last week beating Portland away from home by 34 points.
Adrian Tan, Johnny Pegoraro and Stuart Taverner were best for the Bulldogs.
Brighton kept its unblemished record when it beat Flinders Park by 34 points with Sam Kennedy, James Wray and Bryce Williams starring.
The Bombers to win by 22-38 points.
Mitcham hosts Golden Grove in a key game for both sides.
The Hawks are yet to win, last week losing to Walkerville by 18 points.
John Mason, Samuel Clark and Simon Tucker were solid.
Golden Grove was switched on from the start against SMOSH West Lakes at home, cruising in
by 104 points.
Kookaburras coach Ben Armstrong said his side showed good form for most of
the game.
“It’s been a sort of up and down season where we have played well in patches,’’ he
said.
“The top two sides (Brighton, Flinders Park) are a bit above the other sides and then there
is a group between third and seven.
“We are around the mark.’’
Best for the Kookaburras was Jake Pitman (three goals), Ben Bamford and Judd Morris.
The Kookaburras by 16-28 points.
Westminster Old Scholars and Portland should be a tight contest at Tilbrook Rasheed Oval
(Glandore).
The Dragons were pipped by two points by Seaton Ramblers with Shane Birss (three goals) best. Portland could not match Plympton at home, falling by 34 points with Dale Laslett again leading the way.
The Dragons by 10-24 points.
SMOSH West Lakes will need everything to go right to beat Seaton Ramblers.
The Lions lost to Golden Grove by 104 points with Matthew Gates best, while the Rams held on in a thriller against Westminster Old Scholars with Peter Miller best. The Rams by 52-70 points.
