FLINDERS Parks hosts Westminster Old Scholars this Saturday in one of the most intriguing

matches of the round.

The Reds have been in fine form in their two matches to date, a 40-point win against SMOSH

West Lakes and a 45-point away win against Mitcham.

Coach Dave Kennewell has been pleased with his side’s start to the season and says the side has a more potent forward line than in recent years.

Former South Adelaide and Eagles player Andrew Ainger is one of the keys to the side.

He kicked seven goals in the opening round but did not play in the win against the Hawks.

Westminster Old Scholars was forced to reassess its approach when it lost to Walkerville in round two.

The Dragons found scoring tough, losing to the Cats by 27 points with just 4.14 on the board. Ben Fisher was the side’s best.

A tough game to assess but Flinders Park can salute at home by 13-26 points.

Golden Grove’s and Walkerville’s clash at Harpers Field is in another tough game to line up. Both sides have at least one thing in common – they have both played and lost to Brighton.

The Kookaburras were around the mark in their first trip to Brighton and at half time trailed by 25 points after getting within two kicks earlier

But the second half was disappointing for the Kookaburras with just 2.5 to 16.5.

Walkerville surprised followers with a solid win against Westminster Old Scholars under new club coach Wayne Weidemann.

They were solid in the opening round against Brighton and impressive against the Dragons.

The home ground could give Golden Grove the edge by 10-22 points.

Seaton Ramblers and Brighton at Pedlar Reserve looks an early-season classic.

Seaton coach Matt Webber said the Rams had played the best he had seen in his three years at the club when they kicked 22.8 to beat Portland 14.14 (98) in the last game.

Brighton went a little better in kicking 23.15 to crush Golden Grove. ost of the Brighton players would not have played at the Rams’ home ground but despite that the Bombers can win a thriller by 8-20 points.

Mitcham and Plympton have enjoyed good clashes in recent years and this should be another close contest at Thomas Farms Oval.

Mitcham has been solid without winning in its two games, while Plympton won well against SMOSH West Lakes at home by 76 points with Lonnie Hampton among the best.

Plympton looks to have the edge, even away from home, by 14-28 points.

SMOSH West Lakes and Portland will be desperate to break through for their first win of the

season when they meet at West Lakes Shore.

The Lions were beaten easily by Plympton, while Portland scored well (14.14) but conceded too much (22.8) in its game against Seaton Ramblers. Portland looks to have the firepower to take this by 16-32 points.
