BRIGHTON and Seaton Ramblers clash at Brighton Oval in what should be one of the best matches of the Bank SA Division Three round on Saturday.
The top-ranked Bombers proved too strong for Golden Grove last week with a 27-point win at
Harpers Field with James Wray, Jack Juniper (eight goals) and Sam Kennedy among the stars.
The Bombers had too much class and juice left in the tank after the Kookaburras were forced to play with 19-fit men from midway through the second quarter.
Seaton Ramblers did enough to beat Portland by 10 points at home last week in a low-scoring game.
Simon Jaspers, Jordan Tonkin and evergreen Paul Marshall were among the best for the Rams which are third with nine wins. Brighton holds the edge by 14-28 points.
Plympton, sixth, hosts ninth side Mitcham in an important game for both sides – Plympton to
stay in touch with the top five and the Hawks trying to rise above relegation territory.
Last week Plympton beat SMOSH West Lakes by 51 points after leading by three points into the last quarter. Kieren Nelson, Johnny Pegoraro and Aaron Ferraro were among the playmakers for the Bulldogs.
Mitcham fell away after half time against Flinders Park to lose by 70 points after trailing by 23 points at half time.
Adam Vonow, Matt Joraslafsky and Chris Gregory played well
for Mitcham. Plympton by 50-66 points.
Portland is home to SMOSH West Lakes in a clash of the eighth and bottom teams.
The Thunder played well to lose to third team Seaton Ramblers by 10 points last week with Dale Laslett,
Nathan Wait and Corey Evans among the side’s better players. SMOSH West lakes was in the match at home against Plympton before falling away in the last quarter to go under by 49 points, Nicholas Madden, Stefan Thomas and Alex Hughes recording solid games.
Portland gets the nod by 10-25 points.
Westminster Old Scholars and Flinders Park meet in a vital clash as far as finals are concerned.
The Dragons are fifth and have Plympton breathing down their necks, while Flinders Park is
locked in a keen tussle with Seaton Ramblers to try to hold second place on the ladder.
Last week the Dragons held out Walkerville by 12 points at home with Thomas Easton (three goals), Rhys French (three goals) and Mark Rusby playing a big part in their win. Flinders Park was too good for Mitcham last week with Tyson Horsnell (three goals), Ben George, Jay Collins and
Andrew Ainger (six goals) among the best. The Reds can win by 16-28 points. Walkerville and Golden Grove lock horns at Walkerville with the Cats needing to win to keep in
touch with the top five and Golden Grove to hold its place in the five.
Ryan Madden, Adam Law
and Luke Westbury were solid for the Cats last week.
Golden Grove pushed Brighton before losing by 27 points with Judd Morris, Joshua Ingram and Chris Hannah handy.
The Kookaburras by 20-38 points.
