The two Super powers of the competition finally lock horns in the top of the table clash when Elizabeth hosts Pulteney.
The two Super powers of the competition finally lock horns in the top of the table clash when Elizabeth hosts Pulteney.
The Eagles 6th win on the trot was an 8 goal win on the back of Darryl Cotter kicking 8 of his own.
Pulteney’s most recent demolition job was a 95-point win over Ingle Farm with former Gold Coast listed player Dalton Tucker getting leather poisoning with over 40 touches.
I think the Old Scholars will have too many avenues to goal and get the chocolates in what is likely to be a high scoring affair at Argana Park.
Brahma Lodge had a commanding 15 goal win over struggling Mawson Lakes. The Lakes could have been forgiven for not being able to curtail the influence of the Steele boys as Dean and Dene ran amok.
They now face West Croydon in a battle for 3rd spot. The Hawks lost the battle of their ornithological family going down to the Eagles despite high flying Luke Woodcocks 4 goals.
I’ll tip the Tigers but not with great confidence in what is certain to be a strong physical contest.
Fitzroy have found their “Foo-shizzle” with 3 wins on the trot.
Their latest was a 13 point win over Salisbury West. Chris Beaty continues to be consistent whilst Chad Bourke has had a welcome return to form.
They now host winless Houghton and will make it 4 wins on the trot. It’s looking a tough year for the Raiders but Jai Mcmurtrie was good on the weekend with 4 majors whilst the big fella Cameron Schutz gives his all in ruck.
Ingle Farm has been cruelled by injuries and has used an amazing 41 players in the first 6 rounds. They will host Salisbury West after their narrow loss to Fitzroy. Alec Maidment was adjudged their best.
Availabilities could well determine the outcome of this one. I think the Dogs at home just to turn around a string of losses.
Trinity had a hard fought come from behind win at the luckless Houghton. This was off the back of a superb game by Jordan Smith. This win sees them sitting 5th and they will be looking to stay there with a strong win at home when they face Mawson Lakes.
There is no doubt the Lakes are struggling but special mention goes to Brenton Reidy and Aaron Mendrin who both had their best games for the season. It’s hard to envisage the Lakes heading back up Main North road with a win on Saturday afternoon.
