WHILST other teams were being hyped in the offseason Pulteney seemed to sneak under the radar but have clearly assembled a finals bound squad.

Its 130-point destruction of Houghton was led by Daniel Nicholson, who kicked six goals, while Dalton Tucker was another key cog in the win.

It visits Mawson Lakes this week, which went down by 34 points to West Croydon.

Lakes’ much improved effort was highlighted by Rory Lee Hammat playing his best game for the club.

Logic suggests that Pulteney will win this comfortably.

Fitzroy has not been able to get a win this year and got smoked by 86 points at Brahma Lodge. Shaun Smith found form but needs a big lift from several of his team mates.

The Lions host Trinity, who notched its first win of the year, upsetting Ingle Farm by 16 points. The return of personnel has seen a much improved work rate and this was led by Luke Winderbank on the weekend.

Fitzroy will come out roaring this week and cause a big upset.

Houghton Districts season has gone from bad to worse.

They lost their captain pre-season and parted ways with their coach Brenton Klaebe last week. Thomas Almond deserves a mention for his efforts on a tough day.

It gets no easier this week as they face undefeated Elizabeth. The Eagles beat Salisbury West by 10 points.

Jarrod Upton was the star.

This won’t be as one-sided as some might think but the only likely result is an Eagles win.

Several injuries and unavailability’s cruelled Ingle Farm but coach Paul Manuel would make no excuses for the Dogs loss on the weekend when contacted by localfooty.sa.com.au.

Nick Lynch is a star and proved so kicking four goals whilst former C-grade player Zack Hancock has developed into a quality contributor.

The Bulldogs face West Croydon, which now sits 3-0 courtesy of their win over The Lakes. Nicholas Symons and Dylan Baker led the way.

At Rowe Park, the Hawks will suffer their first loss of the year.

It’s a battle of the Tigers as winless Salisbury West hosts Brahma Lodge, which continues to impress with the likes of Darrell Mcintyre who kicked a lazy 10 goals on the weekend.

It capped the great work of ultra-talented Darren Huitema.

The Tigers of Salisbury are improving with good form being shown by Russell Bach but Brahma will get the chocolates.
