ELIZABETH has had a comeback for the ages on Saturday leading to an ultra-impressive 26-point win over Brahma Lodge.
The Eagles trailed by more than seven goals early in third quarter before igniting in the third stanza and producing a term that yielded 9.10.
Jhye Mcconnell was one outstanding in this phenomenal turn around that now sends Elizabeth to St. Marys in a second semi-final against Pulteney.
The winner will be promoted to division five.
Pulteney and Elizabeth split the points in their two meetings this year but interestingly enough the games did not unfold as you might think.
The Old Scholars decimated Elizabeth in a clash of two undefeated teams in round seven at Elizabeth.
The Eagles then returned the favour about a month ago at Morgan Oval by around 10 goals.
Both teams have high quality midfields with Pulteney boasting the likes of Dalton Tucker, Joshua Giddings and Tom Laity, who are all sublimely skilled and able to provide quality service to a good spread of forwards.
For the Eagles, their onball stars include Trent Greenshields, Adam Hann and Bradley Mitchell.
Pulteney captain Chris Rowlands will have a huge job in defence and as long as he can manage his troops in their team defensive efforts to curtail the dangerous Elizabeth forwards.
Brahma Lodge now hosts Ingle Farm after their aforementioned loss that would have had playing coach Joss Denengelse pulling his hair out.
Dene Steele was their best.
The Farmers had an outstanding 47-point win over Trinity in a score line that doesn’t truly do their dominance justice.
Grae Grant was the star and again showed he is a big game player.
Ingle Farm has won both times these teams played this year but that counts for little this week. The battle in ruck may dictate which midfield gains the ascendancy.
For the Bulldogs, the other keys are likely to be tall forward Luke McCormick-Smith, skipper Ben Smart and tackling machine Peter Bone.
For Brahma the keys are likely to be Dene and Dean Steele, Dylan Brooks in the middle and Darren Huitema across half back.
