Payneham Norwood Union (PNU) beat Flinders Park by a point last Sunday, 6.5 to 6.4 to back up its flag against Flinders Park by 14 points in last season’s decider.
On Sunday, Tyson Egglestone, Alberto Tranfa, Jameson Bower, Tom Wagner and Oliver Pride led the way for PNU, while Flinders Park’s best were Domenico Marafioti, Alex Martin, Nathan Lornie, Ethan Abbott and Reece Jesson.
Zane Donaldson was the only multiple goalkicker on the ground with two goals for the Falcons.
Athelstone proved far too strong for Goodwood Saints in their clash at Max Amber Sportsfield.
The Raggies won 14.11 (95) to 5.3 (33) after leading 4.5 to 0.1 at quarter time, 6.7 to 1.2 at half time and 12.9 to 2.2 at the last change.
The team enjoyed even efforts across the ground with goalscoring well spread. Andrew Hatziyiorgis, James Davies, Chad Wood, Anthony Lanzoni, Alex Pietrobon and Dominic Sangermano kicked two goals each.
Best for the Saints were Josh Wilson, Daniel Scott and Sam Laube.
Tea Tree Gully was always in control of its home game against Golden Grove, winning 13.15 (93) to 7.5 (47). The Gullies led 4.5 to 1.0, 5.8 to 3.1 and 9.14 to 5.2 at the changes before clearing away for a good win. Joshua Gauci, Brodie Latham (three goals) and Carlos Buccini (three goals) were among the best for the Gullies, while Michael Walters (three goals), Kyle Thorogood and Adrian Dalton played well for the Kookaburras.
Port District was never threatened by Henley in their match at Largs Reserve, the Magpies home 14.10 (94) to 4.4 (28). Best for Port were Logan McKinnon-Collins, Kobe Broome and Declan James-Boylan. Declan Billingsley kicked four goals. Adrian Corso (two goals) and Kyle Dalidowicz played lone hands for Henley.
Broadview had the bye.
This week Flinders Park hosts Tea Tree Gully, Golden Grove is home to Goodwood Saints, Henley takes on Payneham Norwood Union at Henley Memorial Oval, while Athelstone meets Broadview at Max Amber Sportsfield.
