Adelaide Footy League: Aldi Division 4 Round 6 preview

GEORGE Cornish bagged another five goals on the weekend for Edwardstown but which team has top billing with the experts? Read on for the round’s previews.

EDWARDSTOWN and Salisbury will be hunting for a much-needed win when they clash in ALDI division four action this weekend.

The Towns welcome the Magpies to Edwardstown Oval with both sides earning just one victory over the opening five rounds.

Edwardstown, eighth, is on a four-game losing streak after falling to Kilburn by seven points last outing.

The Towns finished strongly but could not get across the line for their first win since beating Smithfield in round one.

George Cornish kicked five goals and was best for Edwardstown against the Chics.

Salisbury broke its 2017 duck with a 15-point triumph over Smithfield on the weekend.

The Magpies held off the Panthers after their 24-point half-time advantage was trimmed to seven

entering the final term.

Jarrod Gray, Sean Hee and Brad Horjus (four goals) were impressive for ninth-ranked Salisbury.

Elsewhere, Eastern Park and Smithfield will renew rivalries after a two-decade wait when they clash at Thebarton Oval.

The Demons have surged to second on the ladder after four-straight wins, including a 73-point thumping of Colonel Light Gardens on Saturday.

Shawn Mansell bagged six goals as the division’s top scoring side again piled on more than 100 points.

At Kellett Reserve, Colonel Light Gardens will be aiming to end a two-game losing skid against Morphettville Park.

The Lions have fallen from top spot to fourth after losses to Smithfield and Eastern.

Morphies are a spot above Colonel Light Gardens and will put a four-game winning run on the line.

The Roos’ fast-starts have caused issues for opponents.

Last weekend Morphies kicked five goals to one on their way to a comfortable 50-point win over Gepps Cross.

Ladder-leader North Haven can extend its unbeaten start to the season to six games against Gepps Cross.

The Magpies finished over the top of Hectorville following a slow start last weekend.

North trailed by 22 points at the main break before hitting the front by three quarter-time.

The Magpies booted eight of nine fourth-term goals to push the final margin out to 53 points.

The Hounds will hope to build on their first half performance against North Haven away to Kilburn on Saturday.

Hectorville sits last after five rounds, while Kilburn is in fifth.
