COLONEL Light Gardens will aim to continue its unbeaten start to the ALDI Division four season when it travels to winless Smithfield on Saturday.
The Lions improved to 3-0 on the weekend after easily disposing of Salisbury by 49 points at Mortlock Park.
Alistair Fleming booted seven goals to take his season tally to 16 in three games.
Emmett Wood (two goals), Sam Sloan (three) and Josh Bennett (four) and Jackson Hooper were all prolific in the solid victory.
The win has kept Colonel Light Gardens at the top of the ladder alongside North Haven.
The Magpies were forced to battle before seeing off Kilburn by 18 points on the road.
Tom Lipson kicked four majors to share the competition’s goalkicking lead alongside Fleming.
Mark McCallum’s seven-goal haul was a highlight for the Chics.
North Haven faces Edwardstown this weekend while Kilburn travels to winless Salisbury.
Eastern Park can continue its fine form against Gepps Cross.
After a slip-up against Kilburn in the opening round, the Demons have fired back with 86 and 108 point wins.
The latter came against Hectorville over the weekend.
Eastern’s running game was far too strong, growing the margin as the contest went on.
Bradley Woodward led the way with five goals, while Nathan Warren and Marc Weber were
instrumental.
The big back-to- back wins have the Demons sitting third – and with a healthy percentage – behind Colonel Light Gardens and North Haven ahead of a clash with Gepps Cross.
Gepps moved into the top five following a 29-point victory over Smithfield.
The Rams were almost left to rue their wastefulness – they kicked 13.20 for the afternoon – as the Panthers closed to within 16 points at three quarter-time after trailing by 40 at the main break.
Gepps steadied on the back of key performances from Robert Kovacic (two goals) and Joshua Matthews.
Elsewhere, Morphettville Park will aim to extend its winning streak to three matches at home to
Hectorville.
The Roos recorded a come-from-behind victory over Edwardstown last start.
The Towns were up by 13 points at half-time before Morphettville Park improved its accuracy on goal to charge home and win 10.11 (71) to 9.3 (57).
Jacksen Trezise was best-on-ground again, while Edward Doak nailed four majors.
