MINOR premiers North Haven will be aiming to become the first side into the division four grand final when they host Eastern Park on Saturday.

The Magpies enter the finals fray refreshed after finishing four games clear on top of the ladder to earn a first week bye in the major round.

They face Eastern looking to reach their first grand final since the 2014 Division five decider and shake off consecutive preliminary final losses.

North Haven has lost in the penultimate game of the season to Westminster Old Scholars and Salisbury since promotion to the Adelaide Football League’s fourth tier.

A spot in the grand final would also give North Haven a crack at winning its first senior premiership since 1985.

North Haven won both of its 2017 minor round encounters against the Demons, including a 17 point victory at home a fortnight ago.

Eastern enters the clash coming off a thrilling qualifying final win over Morphettville Park.

The Demons prevailed by five points in an arm wrestle on the road.

Eastern trailed by less than a straight kick at each of the breaks before kicking two of the final three goals to snatch victory.

Shawn Mansell nailed six goals as the Demons overcame the Roos and inaccuracy around goal to advance to the major semi-final.

Ben McMullen, Ian Williamson, Alex Clements and Bailey Palmer were key performers.

Saturday’s loss left Morphettville Park facing a sudden-death path to the grand final.

The Roos, well served by Jacksen Trezise (one goal) and Andrew Carlin (four) on the weekend, host Kilburn on Saturday.

The Chics won the most recent encounter between the sides by 26 points after being demolished by 98 points in their round two clash.

Kilburn booked the second-round finals clash after downing Gepps Cross in an impressive elimination final display.

The Chics booted five first-term goals on their way to a comfortable 43-point win at home.

James O’Loughlin was a standout for the hosts.
