Adelaide Footy League: Aldi Div 4 Round 10 preview

THE battle for finals spots will heat up when the top four sides go head-to-head in Adelaide Footy League Aldi Division 4 action this weekend.

THE battle for finals spots will heat up when the top four sides go head-to-head in Adelaide Footy League Aldi Division 4 action this weekend.

Undefeated North Haven will visit Morphettville Park in a top-of-the-table clash and Eastern Park and Kilburn will fight it out for a lead in the race for third spot.

North has been the team to beat through the opening half of the season, taking down each of its nine rivals.

Last time against Morphies the Magpies produced a 23-point home victory.

The Roos have won seven of eight since to set up a mouth-watering clash at Kellett Reserve.

Morphettville Park’s success has come on the back of being the best defensive team in the division, while North Haven has scored more heavily than any other side.

The Magpies would move three wins clear at the top with a victory and be well on their way to the minor premiership.

A Morphettville Park win would move the Roos four competition points clear of fourth spot, unless Eastern Park and Kilburn draw, and in a strong position to seal a double chance.

Eastern Park and Kilburn will be fighting to take pole position in the race for third — and a vital double chance — when they clash at Dwight Reserve.

The Demons and Chics hold 6-3 records entering the clash.

Kilburn ran out a 35-point winner at home to Eastern in Round 1 and has won five of its past six to climb into a strong position in the top five.

The Demons have lost two of their past four, including a 63-point thumping at the hands of North Haven before last weekend’s league-wide break.

Elsewhere, Gepps Cross will look to hold onto its spot in the top five when it travels to Salisbury.

The Rams have won two of their past three to climb to fifth.

The Magpies sit a win further back and could be just percentage outside the five with a win if other results fall their way.

Edwardstown visits Smithfield with a chance to make further ground on the top teams.

The Towns have put together consecutive wins and would improve to 5-5 with a win over the last-placed Panthers.

Smithfield has lost five straight.

In other games Colonel Light Gardens will look to snap a six-game losing streak against Hectorville.

The Lions enter the clash in eighth spot, just a win ahead of the Hounds.
