MIDFIELD recruit James Boyd will debut for Woodville-West Torrens on Saturday against the team that surprisingly showed him the door last season.
Boyd and defender Jacob Templeton both joined the Eagles from Central District in the off-season and will face their old side first-up on Saturday.
The Eagles’ other marquee recruit, South Adelaide Ken Farmer Medallist Michael Wundke, is also set for his first game in a Woodville-West Torrens jumper.
“He’s done every training session that he could and fitted in well, buying into our game structure,” Godden said of Boyd.
“He had 30 touches and three goals against the Crows and was all right again on Friday night.
“I’m sure in his own mind there might be some nerves but we haven’t discussed it and no doubt he’s looking forward to it (playing his old team).
“It’s becoming less and less important with players jumping around a bit.”
Central District is also set to unveil some new faces with Tim McIntyre (Sturt), Bryce Retzlaff (Box Hill), Ben Mabon (North Melbourne) and Jacob Gillbee (Gold Coast) set to be named in the Round 1 team.
