RICHMOND has roared into 2018 with a record membership and strong reserved seat sales after breaking a 37-year premiership drought.
The Tigers have also sold most of their memberships guaranteeing access to a Grand Final ticket if they make it again. The only remaining option, Inner Sanctum, costs $2200 for adults.
Richmond has already surpassed Collingwood’s previous AFL membership record of 79,347 set in 2014. Today, it had 80,221 members and hopes to top 90,000.

The club’s original reserved seat allocation sold out in January.
A new seat option, Roaming Tiger, allows members to register for a level one Punt Road end seat in bays M1 or M2 before each MCG home game. Unsold seats will be reallocated.
A Herald Sun investigation found fellow 2017 grand finalist Adelaide has also sold out of 11-game home reserved seat memberships and memberships that offer a Grand Final guarantee.
Gold Coast has significantly dropped its prices for 2018, from $200 to $149 for an adult home general admission membership, due to the disruption caused by the Commonwealth Games.

Concession is down from $175 to $125, junior from $105 to $75 and a family of two adults and four children from $575 to $415.
Carlton has also slashed the price if its 11-game family home GA membership for two adults and four juniors from $612 to $420.
The home and away version, which includes away games in Melbourne, is down from $856 to $664.
Junior membership prices vary considerably, from $50 at Brisbane to $135 at Collingwood.
The 2018 Magpie Stars package has several inclusions and a clinic.
AFLW packages continue to grow, and more clubs are offering ‘flexi’ AFL memberships with a certain number of games you can use for yourself and/or friends.

For example, you can use a 10-game flexi membership to take five people twice, attend 10 games alone, or another combination. Sydney’s Victorian version can split 11 games over two seasons.

Port Adelaide has cut some of its adult match day prices by up to $34.
AFL Fans Association president Gerry Eeman said it was great to see many clubs still offering affordable membership packages.
“Members remain the backbone of clubs, financially and culturally, especially the members who attend most games,” he said.
