Honesty drove Josh Francou to reveal Swans move ahead of SANFL finals
ROOSTERS coach Josh Francou's ambition to test himself at AFL level enticed him to accept a role with the Sydney Swans. Honesty led him to reveal it now.
NORTH Adelaide coach Josh Francou's ambition to test himself at the AFL level enticed him to accept a coaching role with the Sydney Swans.
Asked if the timing on the eve of the SANFL finals was right for the announcement of his move to Sydney next season, Francou said rumours had been rife and he wanted to be honest with his players.
"It has been an ambition to go to the next level," Francou said "There have been plenty of rumours and I wanted to be upfront with the playing group.
"My total focus though is on the elimination final against Central District (at AAMI Stadium on Sunday). That is all I am concerned with at this moment and doing everything possible to help the playing group."
Francou has been appointed to a development role at the Swans and will move to Sydney in November.
A Magarey Medallist with the Roosters before a career with Port Adelaide, Francou has been in charge of the Roosters for three years.
