Toby Greene could find himself under scrutiny from the AFL Tribunal over a rule aptly named after the GWS superstar.
Back in 2017, Greene made headlines after connecting with the face of ex-Bulldog Luke Dahlhaus with his boot in a marking contest.

The 30-year-old escaped with a $1500 fine but it wasn’t the first time he employed the move and it ultimately led to a tightening of the rules two years later, when the use of studs in marking contests or open play could result in free kicks, fines or suspensions.
It widely became known as “the Toby Greene rule”.
The GWS skipper was at it again during Sunday’s clash with West Coast in Perth, leading with his right leg as he took a mark before catching Eagle Tom Cole in the chest.
The Fox Footy commentary team were quick to recall the Giants’ past indiscretions.
“Driving ball from (Lachie) Whitfield and out to meet it Toby Greene, well he had the leg out, he did make contact, allowed to play on,” Adam Papalia said in the call.
“We’ve seen that before with Toby Greene taking a mark with his leg out and his studs up.”
His co-commentators then chipped in.
“Didn’t they bring a rule in, a Toby Greene rule?” former Eagle Will Schofield added.
“They certainly did,” Matthew Pavlich responded.
“He did make contact with the player,” Papalia added.
Fremantle great Pavlich then elaborated on his view of the incident.
“I think that’s fine,” he said initially. “You’re allowed to run out and jump at the ball.
“But you’re not allowed to run and jump at the ball and put your studs up. That’s been the change hasn’t it after a couple of those incidents.
“I’m sure it will be looked at.”
The moment didn’t escape the view of those watching and commenting on social media.
“Toby Greene with some questionable marking technique here,” the Fox Footy account on X captioned a video of the incident.
“Ah karate kid is back,” was one reply.
“Just completely unnecessary,” added another.
Another X user posted a photo of Greene’s contact with Dahlhaus and wrote: “Toby Greene winding back the clock.”
As widely predicted, the Giants were dominating the game at Optus Stadium.
Greene had one goal, 16 possessions and six marks in the game, while teammate Tom Green starred with 34 disposals and eight clearances in the 16.12 (108) to 5.13 (43) victory.
West Coast’s No. 1 draft pick Harley Reid had some impressive moments in his 17 touches and three clearances in his home debut.
