On the eve of the free agency period, the AFL has released the full list of players who could switch clubs this season.
Players in the top 25 per cent of salaries at their club qualify for restricted free agency after eight seasons at a club when they come out of contract, and unrestricted free agency after 10 seasons.
Players not in the top 25 per cent qualify for unrestricted free agency after eight seasons, while players delisted by their clubs also become unrestricted free agents.
Clubs can match rival bids for restricted free agents while unrestricted free agents can move to the club of their choice.
Players recruited in the 2019 mid-season rookie draft who were previously delisted by an AFL club have been included on the 2019 free agency list if they haven’t signed a contract for next season.
The list below has been distributed by the league but includes Harry Taylor, who has been offered a one-year contract by Geelong, Shane Edwards who signed a two-year contract with the Tigers today and Mav Weller, who announced his intention to retire after winning a VFL premiership with Richmond.
Tiger Brandon Ellis is set to join Gold Coast, Sam Jacobs is headed for GWS and Cam Ellis-Yolmen will become a Lion. Who else could switch clubs?
