Get Jordan Roughead!
You have one job to do this trade period and just over two more days to do it. And while there is an understandable fascination with the South Australian talent available in this year’s Draft, the Crows must not take their eye off their most pressing issue for the 2019 season — the fact Sam Jacobs needs help in the ruck.
A saviour is staring them in the face. All 200cm of him.
Western Bulldogs big man Jordan Roughead must be the Crows’ priority trade target.
Soon to be 28, Roughead is the perfect age for a ruckman and with his best years ahead of him.
He already has a premiership medal to his name after playing a significant role in the Bulldogs’ 2016 victory just six days after copping a whack in the eye that threatened his place in the Grand Final 22.
He played regardless. With courage.
The rest is history but his form has waned and he needs a change.
Tom Boyd and Jackson Trengove have assumed control of the aerial duels and Roughead is on the outer.
Collingwood is looming so the Crows must move quickly.
He will cost them very little.
In a time when the game is going back to the future and two ruckman are back in favour, the Crows could do much worse than welcome Jordan Roughead into their nest.
