Dual Brownlow medallist Robert Harvey is in the race to become the Crows’ next senior coach.
The Advertiser understands Adelaide’s coaching selection panel interviewed Harvey, a Collingwood senior assistant, in Melbourne on Wednesday.
Harvey, who won back-to-back Brownlows in 1997-98 in his 383-game career at St Kilda, was believed to have narrowly missed out on the coaching job at the Saints when caretaker Brett Ratten was appointed last month.

Australian Football Hall of Famer Harvey started his coaching career with Carlton in 2009-10, before joining St Kilda as midfield coach in 2011 then moving to Collingwood in a similar role at the end of that season.
The 48-year-old took charge of the Magpies’ backline in 2016 before getting promoted to become Nathan Buckley’s right-hand man.
He won the AFL Coaches Association’s assistant coach of the year award at the Magpies in 2013.
The Crows also spoke to Collingwood VFL coach Garry Hocking in Melbourne.
GWS senior assistant Matthew Nicks has also been on Adelaide’s shortlist, while Hawthorn head of matchday strategy Adem Yze is another contender.
The Crows are expected to name a successor to Don Pyke within a week.
Pyke resigned last month with two seasons remaining on his contract.
It is believed there are no more than six candidates remaining in the mix for the Crows job.
