RICHMOND midfielder Anthony Miles and Geelong utility Mark Blicavs lead a class of 22 rookies who have been upgraded to club primary lists for the 2015 AFL season.
The promoted rookies are included among the compulsory minimum of three selections that each club must have at Thursday’s national draft, which will be held on the Gold Coast.
However the players’ names will not be formally read out on Thursday night.
DRAFT ORDER: THE OFFICIAL PICK LIST
Miles was a revelation for the Tigers in 2014, averaging 24 disposals and four tackles per match from 13 games, while Blicavs has become one of Geelong’s most important players over the past two seasons, playing 45 of a possible 49 games.
Other players to be promoted include Melbourne’s Neville Jetta, Port Adelaide’s Kane Mitchell and Sydney’s Jake Lloyd.
Another 36 rookies across the 18 clubs have been retained for 2015, including much-improved Collingwood defender Jack Frost.
Frost, the only Magpie to play every game in 2014, signed a two-year deal in September that will keep him at the Westpac Centre until the end of the 2016 season.
Frost, however, will spend his third and final season on the Pies’ rookie list next year, but is sure to play senior footy with primary listed players Brent Macaffer and Matthew Scharenberg still recovering from knee injuries.
