AFL Draft 2025: How every Tassie Devil boy featured in 2025
With the Tasmania AFL team just a couple of years away, the state’s best young talents are looking to find their way into the system. We breakdown the year of the Devils’ Coates Talent League boys players.
As the Tasmania Devils prepare for AFL entry in 2028, the state’s best young prospects are putting their foot forward.
Season 2025 saw the Devils reach the Wildcard Round of the Coates Talent League (CTL).
Ahead of November’s AFL Draft, we’ve broken down how played fared during the year.

Ben Barwick
Played four games during the season and averaged 7.8 disposals in those appearances. Played 15 senior games for his local club Glenorchy.
Ethan Bonde
In 12 games, Bonde proved to be a very nice user of the footy going at 81.5 per cent by foot while averaging 13.1 disposals and 66 ranking points. Also ranked elite for intercept possessions. Also played 10 senior games for Ulverstone and was an NWFL representative.
Charlie Bovill
The key position swingman is one of the state’s top talents heading into 2026. Played in the U17 futures game on AFL grand final day. In nine games for the Devils, Bovill averaged 68 ranking points.
Jarvis Breen
Played 11 games for the season and averaged 13.5 disposals. Ranked elite for contested possessions. Also was a Tassie senior representative.
Mason Brown
Played 10 games for the Devils alongside nine for his local club Circular Head. A bottom-age prospect this year.
Ryder Bugg
Featured in five games for the season and was given license to kick the footy which he did. Will be a top-age prospect next season and is worth keeping an eye on. Played in North Launceston’s NTFA premiership.
Toby Callow
Represented the Allies this season and was a strong marking utility for the Devils. Played 11 games and averaged an impressive 84 ranking points.
Henry Chapman
One of several bottom age prospects to keep an eye on heading into next year. The tall featured in six games this season.
Jade Clark
A consistent performer at SFL level for Glenorchy alongside six games for the Devils. Clark averaged 10.7 disposals in the CTL.
Bowen Clemons
Played nine games and was often used in defence. Averaged 8.7 disposals. Played eight senior games for Ulverstone.
Lachlan Davey
Played 10 games for the season and averaged 13.5 disposals in those appearances. Was part of Clarence’s SFL grand final side.
Oliver Dean
The over-age prospect played five games in the ruck this season. Was part of North Launceston’s NTFA premiership and kicked 18 goals at local level.
Oliver Depaoli-Kubank
Played five games through the early stages of the season and also tried out for the Vic Metro sides. Was a consistent performer for Ulverstone in the NWFL.
Archie Devine
A defensive distributor who is worth keeping an eye on heading into 2026. Played 12 games and was an elite ball user by foot.
Jack Gilligan
Played five games in the back half of the year and was in the best twice. Also played some senior footy for North Hobart. Averaged 11.6 disposals in the CTL.
Jasper Hay
A member of the National Academy. The big man played 10 games, averaged 11.6 disposals and showed his ability to make a defensive impact.
Khalen Matthews
Another tall who played 10 games this season and averaged 57 ranking points. Showed promise when playing at community level for Longford.
Hugh McCallum
The harding running McCallum is considered one of Tasmania’s top prospects heading into 2026. Ended up playing nine games for the Devils, averaging 14.7 disposals.
Rylee McHenry
The skipper led from the front as a dogged and competitive midfielder in his 12 games. He averaged 21.3 disposals for the season.
Wilbur McMurray
Played five games for the season while spending most of the year at North Hobart in the SFL.
Jack Miller
Finished as his side’s leading goalkicker and was invited to the state draft combine. Showed off his ball winning ability at different stages highlighted by a 29-disposal effort.
Karmichael Peters-Chapman
Featured in 10 games during the year and averaged just under seven touches. A regular goalkicker for Penguin in the NWFL.
Tom Prokopiec
Played eight games throughout the season while also being a regular feature for North Hobart.
Max Roney
Arguably the best performer among all over-age prospects during the season. Roney played 11 games and averaged 23.8 which ranked as elite.
Brodie Speed
Played six games for the season and averaged 66 ranking points in those appearances. Kicked 22 goals in 10 senior games for Clarence.
Jacob Stretton
Took out the club’s rising star award after playing right across the ground in his 10 games. Impressed most on the wing.
Avery Thomas
The only Devil invited to the national draft combine. Played nine games for the year and averaged 66 ranking points.
Anthony Volta
Played eight games and kicked seven goals. Also featured in seven games for North Hobart’s seniors.
Riley Walters
Played nine games for the season, often in defence and averaged 57 ranking points.
Lucas Wootton
Played 11 games for the year and won the club’s most consistent award. Averaged 18.9 disposals and 113 ranking points. One of the elite tacklers, averaging 5.9 per game.
Miller Young
In 11 games, he ranked elite across kicks, marks and intercept marks. Averaged 10.5 disposals.
