WHO said lightning does not strike twice? Sturt has caused a massive boilover at Woodville Oval for the second time in seven weeks when they conquered Woodville-West Torrens by 15 points.
The Double Blues showed off their true capabilities when they turn up to games with passion and fierce desire for the contest, prompting coach Seamus Maloney to tag it the club's best win for the season.
In contrast, Eagles coach Michael Godden labelled the defeat as his team's worst effort for the year and he questioned whether his side deserved to be rated a top three contender.
Adding to the Eagles misery, Crows-listed Luke Thompson faces a stint in the sidelines with an ankle injury and Scott Lewis and Byron Sumner must front the SANFL tribunal after being reported.
"That was our best win for the season in terms of gutsy a game out," Maloney said.
"The third quarter was as good a footy as we have played - up into the breeze we had control of the footy and kept them out of the game."
The signs were positive from the visitors from the outset in the entertaining, free flowing battle, challenging the Eagles with relentless pressure and a willingness to be involved in the body clashes.
Despite having the Double Blues in their face, the Eagles were composed early and the likes of Jared Petrenko had a huge influence as the home side built a 21-point buffer 11 minutes into the second quarter.
But as the game lengthened, the Eagles became untidy and the number of undisciplined acts became a concern.
Not just coughing up cheap free kicks, but failing to pick up opponents and match the Double Blues workrate.
Too often the Eagles aggression was poorly executed.
"We were very undisciplined - embarrassingly undisciplined," Godden said.
"It's like the old player who gets grumpy - we had 15 of those."
The Eagles had the breeze at their backs for the third quarter and managed just four behinds, allowing the Double Blues to grab a five-point lead going into the final quarter.
Michael Coad was outstanding as the general in the Double Blues defence, Matthew Jaensch was a tireless worker, Tim McIntyre had a four-quarter impact and John Greenslade and Ben Kane were busy on the ball. This was a team victory, however.
The damage undisciplined moments can create was no more evident than in the early minutes of the final term. Jaensch bagged a terrific goal to give the Double Blues an 11-point advantage, only for Kane to give up a downfield free kick and subsequent goal to the Eagles.
Just four minutes later, Lewis was reported for his challenge on Tom Hurley, who nailed a terrific goal to again hand the momentum back to the Double Blues.
"That was as bad a performance as we have had this year," Godden said.
'"We were insipid with our effort and that has to be my responsibility."
