Collingwood track watch: Nick Daicos trains, Billy Frampton suffers ankle issue

All eyes were on Nick and Josh Daicos at Collingwood training on Wednesday — and only one brother completed the main session. Plus news on a key defender who limped off the track.

No fitness concerns for Nick Daicos

Collingwood superstar Nick Daicos has completed the club’s main training session following his cramping bout in last Sunday’s loss to GWS Giants.

The Pies’ supreme ball-winner trained fully in the 90-minute session, but sat out the match simulation component, watching on from a balcony above.

Tall Billy Frampton limped from the track at Olympic Park with an apparent ankle issue.

Frampton, who didn’t play in the Magpies’ season-opener against the Giants, appeared to roll his ankle during match simulation and was helped from the track by club medicos and moved immediately indoors.

Daicos’ brother Josh, who suffered an ankle sprain on Sunday, ran extensively with the rehab group, but didn’t partake in the main session, alongside Tom Mitchell and Jeremy Howe, who copped a head knock in Sunday’s game and will be a test to play this weekend.

Jordan De Goey also trained fully, but won’t play against Port Adelaide on Saturday night as he continues to work through a training block.

Mason Cox got through the session as he eyes a return from a finger injury, with a new stars-and-stripes mouthguard on show for the new season.
