CENTRAL District has embarked on a major off-season recruiting drive but says it cannot finalise several deals unless it can get players work in Adelaide.
The Bulldogs issued a plea on their website last week calling on supporters to help find jobs for six unnamed would-be recruits, a possible recruit's partner and a current league player.
It follows the club announcing the signings delisted Crows rookie Tim McIntyre, 24, from Sturt and former Brisbane and Box Hill key forward Bryce Retzlaff, 22, last week.
"Recruiting is essential if we are to be successful next year, and our player list needs freshening up with some new and exciting personnel," Central chief executive Kris Grant said on the website.
"If you know of anyone who may be able to assist, a contact that you know or whatever, please contact me."
Grant told the News Review Messenger said some of the recruits were "over the line subject to employment".
He implored fans to contact the club if they could help find them jobs, including as builders, electricians, labouring and property management.
"They've obviously got other opportunities they're looking at ... and if we can't get employment, they'll look elsewhere," Grant said.
"This (quantity of players) displays the fact we have recruited heavily this year, more so than we have in previous years."
Grant said the club was still hoping to secure ruckman Seb Guilhaus, who has been playing in Darwin, for next season.
The Bulldogs began preseason training on Monday.
