RIA Wells was breathing easy on the blue carpet after her husband's recent health scare.

The wife of North Melbourne star Daniel Wells said it had been a difficult time after Daniel developed a life-threatening blood clot following post-season shoulder surgery.

"It was scary there for a bit," she said, looking radiant in a white Anna Campbell frock.

"Just as long as it's well monitored it will be OK. We think the scary part is over now."
