Two-time premiership winning Crows footballers Courtney Cramey and Ebony Marinoff are used to playing by the AFLW rule: last-touch out-of-bounds.
But for their new women’s football podcast CJ and the Noff, nothing will be out of bounds.
The duo has joined The Advertiser’s football team this AFLW season and will launch their new podcast next week where they will discuss everything from the league’s controversial conference system and knee injuries, to concussion and how the Crows will go back-to-back in 2020.
“It’s normally last-touch out-of-bounds between the 50m arcs, but nothing’s out of bounds for our podcast,” Cramey said.
The podcast will be recorded and released every week of the AFLW season and expect Cramey – known as CJ because her middle name is Jane – and Marinoff – the Noff – to not only reveal more about their personalities, but to give a unique insight into what goes on inside the Crows’ nest.
“And outside of it too,” Marinoff reiterated. “It will be a total AFLW overview, so we’re really looking at what goes on across the league.”
Marinoff said that Cramey and her shared a great friendship on and off the field, which would make for entertaining listening.
“CJ and I talk a lot,” she said.
“We laugh that if anyone ever got hold of our phones and read our messages they would be amazed.
“We have some very interesting conversations and we’re excited to share those with the public.”
Cramey agreed: “We pretty much text all day and all night. Some days there is not a half an hour that goes by without a text.”
And they don’t just chat about footy either.
“We talk about everything, you name it,” Marinoff said.
Cramey and Marinoff were inaugural Crows players in 2017.
Defender Cramey, 34, has played 19 games across three AFLW season as the team’s joint vice-captain and has this year been named in the side’s leadership group. She booted a goal of the year contender last year.
Midfielder Marinoff, 22, has played 24 AFLW games and broke her three-season goal drought last year (kicking three goals in total). She also set a new AFLW record for most disposals in a match – 33 – in 2019.
The Crows get their 2020 season underway on Saturday, February 8 when they travel to Queensland to take on Brisbane at Hickey Park.
