Crows forward Chloe Scheer becomes the second Adelaide forward to be nominated for the 2019 women’s rising star award

At only 19, she’s a big-kicking forward with a big future ahead in football. Meet the latest Crow to be nominated for the AFL Women’s Rising Star award.

THE second Crow in as many weeks has been nominated for the AFL Women’s Rising Star award.

Big-kicking forward Chloe Scheer has been giving the rising star nod, following on from fellow forward Danielle Ponter’s nomination last week.

In her debut year of AFLW, she shares her nomination with Geelong’s Olivia Purcell.

The 19-year-old Scheer returned to the Adelaide side for Sunday’s game against North Melbourne after serving out a one-match ban for rough conduct and played a pivotal role in the Crows 35-point win, spending time in the midfield.

In her fourth game of AFLW, she tallied 12 disposals, kicked one goal and took three strong marks.

Scheer played junior football with the Modbury Hawks at junior level, and dominated the SAWFL as a junior, winning three Narelle Smith Medals as the Under-18 best and fairest.

Also a talented cricketer, Scheer joined the Crows line-up after being selected at Pick 37 in last year’s draft.

With the Crows now sitting top of the Conference A ladder, the are preparing to take on GWS at Unley Oval on Sunday.
