The Adelaide Crows AFLW team returns to training on Thursday after the Christmas break with the clock ticking down to game one.
There are now 30 days until AFLW 3.0 starts and training will resume with a skills and fitness focus.
In their first game of the 2019 season, the Crows take on reigning premiers Western Bulldogs in an evening clash at Norwood Oval on February 2 at 8.10pm.
The game is part of a double-header, and will follow a clash between expansion club Geelong and Collingwood, which will be played at the Cats’ AFL home-ground, GMHBA Stadium.
This year’s AFLW season sees the competition’s 10 teams split into two conferences, with seven minor round games to be played.
The Crows have been placed in Conference A alongside the Bulldogs, Melbourne, Fremantle and North Melbourne.
Adelaide will play four home games, three in South Australia and one at TIO Stadium in Darwin as part of the club’s Northern Territory connection and a further three games at grounds across Melbourne.
When the draw was released last year, Adelaide’s chief operating officer Nigel Smart welcomed the fixture as balanced.
“(The Bulldogs) will be one of the teams to beat, given they are the reigning premiers, but it’s fair to say that with every new AFLW season, there are teams that surprise us in terms of their form,” he said.
“And with the new teams, Geelong and North Melbourne, there’s no doubt they’re going to be competitive and it will be exciting to see how they’ll develop in their first season.”
