HARLEY Reid has been hit with another fine from the AFL for his wayward elbow directed at Carlton’s Lachie Fogarty but will be free to take on Collingwood after the bye.
Reid has already been fined for instigating a melee and a one-fingered salute this year as the No.1 overall draft selection’s form improves as he gains fitness.
As half time approached he was tackled by Blues forward Fogarty and as the pair were on the ground he threw back his elbow in a glancing blow to his opponent.
But the MRO assessed the incident as careless and low impact instead of intentional given he was not looking at Fogarty when he threw his arm back.

He has been handed a $3000 fine, and can accept a $2000 fine with a guilty plea.
The Eagles suffered an embarrassing loss where coach Andrew McQualter labelled some of their contest work “pathetic” as co-captain Oscar Allen went down with a calf tendon injury.
The MRO cleared Judd McVee of a high bump on Port Adelaide’s Joe Richards in the Adelaide Oval clash.

But while the AFL has been keen to crack down on high bumps, Demons defender McVee was in a stationary position as Richards approached and did not leave the ground as he turned his body to brace for contact.
He could argue he was protecting himself rather than electing to bump.
He did make high contact with Richards, who quickly bounced up and played on.
So while McVee would have sweated the AFL’s response, he dodged a suspension which would have put him out against the Suns after the bye.
