The Crows have their eyes on a cross-town rival as they seek to boost their ruck stocks.

But they could be losing one of their most important stars.

CROWS HAVE EYES ON CROSS-TOWN RIVAL

Adelaide could look to cross-town rivals Port Adelaide in order to find some extra ruck depth now that veteran Sam Jacobs has announced he’ll be seeking a trade.

According to AFL.com.au, the Crows have their eyes on Billy Frampton, who’s out of contract, and well behind in the pecking order when it comes to Port’s big men.

Reilly O’Brien emerged as Adelaide’s number one ruck preference, with Jacobs consigned to the seconds for the majority of the year.

Frampton would theoretically be the Crows’ second choice ruckman, while at Alberton he sits behind the likes of Scott Lycett and Peter Ladhams.

ADELAIDE COULD BE LOSING TOP BROWNLOW VOTES GETTER

The Crows have lost their coach, their veteran ruckman and appear to be losing Eddie Betts.

But the club could have another massive loss on their hands, with Tim Watson reporting Brad Crouch is “very close to accepting a Gold Coast Suns’ offer”.

Crouch polled 14 Brownlow votes on Monday night, as Adelaide’s most prolific player.

“The Crows are trying extremely hard to keep him,” Watson told SEN.

“If he does go, he’ll join (Richmond’s) Brandon Ellis.”

Watson also reported the AFL were close to finalising a decision where the Suns would receive a priority pick, giving them picks one and two at the draft, and access to Matthew Rowell and Noah Anderson.

According to The Herald Sun’s Sam Edmund the Suns are also the leaders in the race for Crow Hugh Greenwood who is chasing a four-year deal to stay in Adelaide.

Edmund said the Crows may have to prioritise either Greenwood or Crouch with the club almost certainly not having the cap space to keep both players.
