The smart money has to be on AFL reporter Chris Cavanagh, who won the tipping crown in 2017 on his first try and then defended his title in 2018.

However, he buckled under the pressure of a historic three-peat last season, falling back into the pack and surrendering the crown to Gerard Whateley.
Whateley was also equal fourth in 2018 and third the year before, so he is always a tipster to watch.
Jon Ralph is always close to the mark, and he’s a former winner after saluting in 2016 by three to the second-placed Scott ‘Score’ Gullan.
The Score writer can also not be ignored after winning the 2014 crown by a whopping five points.
