AFL: Coaching news relating to Collingwood job and other positions across the league
His name has been linked to the Collingwood job and the one David Teague occupies at Carlton. Now Ross Lyon has spoken out about where things stand.

Ross Lyon says any suggestion he has been contacted by anyone at Collingwood or Carlton over becoming their senior coach is “fake news”.
Lyon has been linked to both jobs, in the wake of Nathan Buckley’s departure from the Magpies and pressure on David Teague at Carlton.
But the ex-St Kilda and Fremantle coach said there had been no discussions between him and the two clubs mentioned.
“I can categorically say I have had no contact from anyone at the Carlton Football Club or the Collingwood Football Club,” Lyon told Footy Classified.
“That is fake news.
“I haven’t reached out to anybody.”

Lyon said although Collingwood was a big club, he had concerns about how it being unsettled could affect an incoming coach.
“They’ve set an incredibly high bar with Nathan Buckley (making a) prelim, grand final,” he said.
“It seems as though it was almost a political decision that Buckley goes.
“Based on what happened to Nathan Buckley and my view of his performance, and what he went through this year, and the club he went through, and he bore the brunt.
“For him to be considered not to be the one to take them forward, I’m not sure they’ve got real clarity on what that role needs.
“Do you think they’re a settled club at the minute? No.”
Former Collingwood president Eddie McGuire said the appeal of coaching such a big club would mean anyone with competitive juices would “fair dinkum run down there to sign the contract”.
Luke Ball, who played under Lyon at St Kilda, this week joined the Magpies’ coaching selection panel as its fifth and final member.
Collingwood chief executive Mark Anderson, footy boss Graham Wright, football director Paul Licuria and fellow board member Peter Murphy are also on the subcommittee.
Ball, a former president of the AFL Players Association, also lined up alongside Magpies caretaker Robert Harvey at St Kilda.
Ex-midfielder Ball featured in Collingwood’s 2010 premiership.
“Luke is an outstanding football person, someone all in the game respect for his great character and acumen,” Anderson said.
“His perspectives and abilities will be a certain asset as we embark on the process of seeking our next senior AFL coach.”
