Adelaide interceptor Alex Keath has been lured to the Western Bulldogs on a four-year deal likely to be worth as much as $2 million.
Keath had interest from St Kilda and Adelaide, but as revealed by the Herald Sun last month was always likely to find his way to the Western Bulldogs.
Keath turns 28 in January and while the Crows would have loved to have kept him his four-year request proved too long for a club that does not have a coach right now.
It means it would have been hard to commit to him on that tenure even if they believed they could spend that much money on a 28-year old.
Keath will be the perfect foil for the Dogs defenders Zaine Cordy and Easton Wood.

The Dogs are also expected to secure Saints forward Josh Bruce on a four-year deal which will help young forward Aaron Naughton.
The decision was only officially made this afternoon so the clubs are not yet in a position to discuss what might broker the trade.
The former Gold Coast draftee and cricketer had been a great success story after the Crows lured him across by allowing him to also play grade cricket.
He had been in the top three in the league in intercept marks until he suffered an ankle injury in Round 18 and only returned for Round 23.
The Crows said in a statement: “The club and Keath’s management team will work together to ensure a satisfactory outcome is reached for both parties during the upcoming trade period.”
