ADELAIDE has forced the NBL grand final series into a decisive game five after a heart-stopping 90-81 win over Melbourne United on Sunday.
The Sixers watched their 24-point half-time lead evaporate to just four with a minute to go but a Daniel Johnson three-pointer sealed the deal and kept their championship dream alive.
In an almost total defensive shut-out of United, Adelaide restricted Casper Ware to just 13 point and Chris Goulding to 15 as they spread their own scoring across the board.
Johnson top scored with 21 while Nathan Sobey had 16 including some clutch free-throws in the final quarter, Shannon Shorter had 14, Majok Deng 13 and Ramone Moore 12.
Having levelled the series at 2-2, it means Adelaide now travels to Melbourne to play for the title at Hisense Arena on Easter Saturday night.
“I just want to say thank you so much for the atmosphere, you guys make it fun, I don’t hear you but I feel you which is more important,” crowd Joey Wright told the 8000-storng crowd.
