Students of a new $40m Trinity College campus at Roseworthy have been given a preview of what to expect when doors open in 2024 ahead of the start of construction later this month.
The R-10 school will accommodate 650 students and feature a multipurpose hall, full-size oval and soccer pitch, state-of-the-art library, modern classrooms, break-out spaces and play areas.
Enrolments are open for the first intake of R-6 students in 2024.
The new school will be built in the heart of the $700m St Yves housing estate which will deliver 800 new homes in the area.
Head of Trinity College Nick Hately said the new school would cater to the influx of young families into the region over the coming years.
“Whilst St Yves is creating a sophisticated living environment for families, it certainly will attract many younger couples to this rural lifestyle,” he said.
“A significant advantage for any land development is that residents will have a school to enrol their children at from day one.
“Residents are fortunate their children can commence in the preschool at Trinity from 3 years of age and continue their education to Year 12.”
The St Yves development will include a $150m-plus retail and lifestyle precinct, to be built opposite the new college campus, which will include supermarket, medical services, gym and childcare centre.
Construction of the retail precinct is expected to commence late next year.
About 50 homes have been built or are under construction at St Yves ahead of the official launch of a sales gallery and display village on Friday.
Developer Land Vision Group has also engaged renowned artists Gillie and Marc to design a sculpture trail across the 68ha estate.
Sydney-based Gillie and Marc are known for their animal, human-animal hybrid and abstract sculptures, which have been exhibited around the world.
Known as An Extraordinary Life, the St Yves exhibition will feature 11 works in the Dogman and Rabbitwoman series of bronzes, including a new piece named ‘They were planting a greener future’.
The trail will link to a broader creative space within the St Yves development, which will also include 13ha of open space, wetlands, walking trails and sporting and community facilities.
Land Vision Group director Joe Oppedisano said 150 house and land packages at St Yves had been sold so far, with the fifth stage release now available to buyers.
“I’m delighted to announce this collaboration with Gillie and Marc which coincides with the official launch of our display village and sales gallery, with festivities continuing across the weekend,” he said.
“It is a sophisticated residential estate that will set a benchmark for contemporary living in South Australia.”
A family fun day will be held at St Yves on Saturday to mark the launch of the display village and sales gallery.
