South Australian schools have published their 2024 SACE results for their year 12 cohorts

South Australian schools have revealed how well their SACE students did this year. See the breakdown of median ATAR, completion rates and highest achievements.

From heartbreak to success: SACE students who achieved against the odds

Students at St John’s Grammar in the Adelaide foothills hit a SACE milestone for the first time in its history with median ATAR result greater than 90.

The school boasted a 90.28 median average ATAR among their year 12 group with 36 per cent of the cohort achieving a score greater than 95.

Schools have tallied up the scores of the class of 2024 and revealed their median ATARs.

Some top performing schools have spruiked their stats in detail on social media while others have chosen to keep their scores private.

St John’s Grammar principal Richard Anderson said the result was a long time coming and last year the school was just shy of the mark at 89.3.

“These things don’t happen overnight,” Mr Anderson said.

“It is very transparent that their (teachers’) work really matters, and that setting up the futures for young people in their care is a mission that is very much in their hearts.

“(But) it’s not just about great teaching, it’s about making sure it’s a collaborative environment where they can support each other.”

Wilderness School in Medindie recorded the highest median ATAR of the schools surveyed, with a score of 93.83, a small increase on their result last year of 93.6.

About half of the school’s year 12 students were placed in the top five per cent nationally for their ATAR scores.

Wilderness School principal Belinda Arnfield said her students’ results enabled “so many opportunities in the next stages of their lives as they move beyond school”.

“Our success is not limited to one course area, it is widespread,” Ms Arnfield said.

“Once again I am incredibly proud of our girls and grateful to our teachers for their consistent passion, dedication and hard work.”

Other schools who achieved top median ATAR scores included St Ignatius’ College with a 88.65 result, IQRA College with 87.65 and Immanuel College with 84.85. Among public schools, Adelaide High School in the CBD achieved a median ATAR of 76.
