Best and worst regional SA, Adelaide Hills schools for 2023 NAPLAN results revealed

From Whyalla to the Mid-North and the Hills, which schools across regional SA did the best and worst for NAPLAN? See the list.

Sunrise Christian School Whyalla and Lucindale Area School are regional South Australia’s top performing NAPLAN schools.

An independent analysis of newly-released 2023 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the year 5 and year 9 tests. You can see the full SA list here.

Lucindale Area School, in Lucindale, had the best primary results than any other school in regional South Australia, scoring an average of 528.0 this year.

Uraidla Primary School in Uraidla was the second best for the region with an average score of 523.8, while Loxton Lutheran School in Loxton was the third best with an average score of 514.8.

The top performing secondary school was Sunrise Christian School Whyalla, in Whyalla Norrie, where the average result was 614.6.

Mount Barker Waldorf School in Mount Barker was the second best for the region with an average score of 602.2, while Minlaton District School in Minlaton was the third best with an average score of 582.4. You can see other Hills schools here.

To determine how each school performed in 2023, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (year 5 or year 9) were combined and the average found.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the federal government’s MySchool website.
