Southern Montessori School and Dara School are Adelaide west and beaches’ top performing NAPLAN schools.

An independent analysis of newly-released 2023 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the year 5 and year 9 tests.

Dara School, in Morphettville, had the best primary results than any other school in the Adelaide west and beaches, scoring an average of 559.2 this year.

Westminster School in Marion was the second best for the region with an average score of 529.6, while Emmaus Christian College in South Plympton was the third best with an average score of 522.2.

The top performing secondary school was Southern Montessori School, in O’Sullivan Beach, where the average result was 617.6.

Emmaus Christian College in South Plympton was the second best for the region with an average score of 609.4, while Sunrise Christian School Marion in Marion was the third best with an average score of 597.8.

To determine how each school performed in 2023, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (year 5 or year 9) were combined and the average found.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the federal government’s MySchool website.
