Adelaide’s auction market will be the centre of attention this weekend, with PropTrack data showing 119 South Australian homes are set to go under the hammer by the end of the weekend.

And, courtesy of auction streaming and bidding service Gavl, Advertiser subscribers were able to watch 13 of them live on Saturday.

Of these 119 auctions, PropTrack data shows 116 are in metro Adelaide, while the other three are from regional SA.

The biggest suburbs for auctions this week are Ingle Farm and Pooraka, with each recording four, followed by Norwood with three and Adelaide and Beverley each recording two.

PropTrack economic research director Cameron Kusher said he was predicting a busy spring auction period.

“The week after next is the first weekend of spring,” he said.

“(National) volumes are already scheduled to be 4 per cent higher than a year ago, though there is typically an upward revision to future volumes as we inch closer to those week,”

“We expect that early spring will be a busy period for auctions as vendors look to sell early to beat out further price falls.”

Among the properties going under the hammer this weekend are the four-bedroom home at 311 Kings Rd, Paralowie.

Set on a 407sqm allotment this one – described by its agent as “a welcome buy for the owner wanting that balance of a quality live-in home or strong potential rental” – is bound to attract some attention when it hits the auction block at 10am Saturday.

Then, 90 minutes later in Magill, a stunning contemporary home at 5 Warburton St goes under the hammer.

This Grange Estate home sits on a 419sqm allotment just a short walk from both Norwood International High School and UniSA’s Magill campus.

With Magill being a hotpot for families, this three-bedroom home – which offers the potential to use the formal lounge as a fourth bedroom – should attract spirited bidding at auction.

Then at 4pm, attention will turn to a three-bedroom retro family home at Clearview.

The 22 Winsdor Ave home boasts a range of period features, including pastel kitchen cabinetry, timber flooring, inbuilt shelving, high ceilings and an original bathroom.

Set in a prime northern suburbs location adjacent the family-friendly Lightsview, Broadview and Greenacres; and sitting on an 808sqm allotment, this one is bound to be an exciting auction.
