More than 100 properties were scheduled to go to auction across the state this week, with hopeful househunters set to fight it out for their chance to own a slice of the Great Australian Dream.
According to PropTrack data, 109 properties would hit the auction block by the end of the weekend, and in collaboration with our auction partner Gavl, we live streamed eight of them here on Saturday.
Somerton Park is SA’s top auction suburb for the week, with four properties going under the hammer by Sunday’s end, with Athelstone, Brooklyn Park, Burnside and Golden Grove all hosting three auctions this week.
PropTrack economist Anne Flaherty said the number of properties up for auction across the country has risen this week, with 2040 auctions currently scheduled around Australia.
“Victoria will host the most auctions in the country, with 816 currently scheduled, followed by New South Wales at 792,” she said.
“Next week is predicted to be even stronger, with both New South Wales and Victoria set to see Super Saturdays with more than 1,000 auctions scheduled each.
“While selling activity has picked up, scheduled auctions remain 16 per cent below the levels seen over the same period last year.”
Of the auctions live streamed here on Saturday, an easy-care home at 1/4 Maud St, Clapham is the first cab off the rank, hit the auction block at 9.30am.
The low-maintenance character villa sits on a 329sqm block and offers some 216.47sqm of indoor and outdoor living space.
It is for sale through Harcourts Sheppard and carries an auction price guide of $630,000.
Then at 10am across town at Woodville South, entertainers would fight it out for a contemporary family home at 23a Esk St goes under the hammer.
The home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, with the highlight being a rear alfresco area with outdoor kitchen.
This one hits the market without a price guide and is being sold through Ray White Woodville.
Then at 2.30pm a five-bedroom family home at Golden Grove hit the auction block.
Set on a 664sqm allotment, the home has five bedrooms and an extensive outdoor entertainment area.
The 15 Piccadilly Circus property was being offered for sale through Smith Partners Real Estate without a price guide.
