SA’s best have been honoured at the real estate industry’s night of nights – the Annual REA Group Excellence Awards gala in Melbourne – with one company crowned the best residential agency in the country.

The REA awards recognise the outstanding performance of realestate.com.au and

realcommercial.com.au customers in supporting Australians throughout their property journeys.

Almost 70 data-driven and submission-based gongs were given out, following more than 800 submissions for the awards, from across the nation.

Winners’ prizes included advertising opportunities, media coverage and features on

realestate.com.au and across REA Group’s social media channels.

South Australian residential sales and property management real estate agency, Harris Real Estate, took out the Residential Agency of the Year award for its hyper-local campaigns that enabled agents to grow recognition in their service areas.

The agency has also built a one-on-one training program in-house, with a learning platform of more than 300 courses.

Auta Group’s Victoria Tower Adelaide, Rivergum Homes and Peet, Wood & Match’s Tonsley Village were also recognised, while Mike Lao was recognised for selling the most SA metro properties.

Toop + Toop’s Sally Cameron recorded the highest value of sales, while Elders Whyalla’s Jake Pope was awarded for selling the most regional residential properties.

Kathleen Fry of Ouwens Casserly, formerly Harcourts South Coast, was found to have recorded the highest total value of regional residential sales, while Commercial SA’s Andrew Turner and City Realty’s Saxon Smith were awarded top commercial agents for sales and leasing respectively.

Ouwens Casserly Real Estate were also recognised for their Wellbeing Initiative of the Year.

They have introduced a wellbeing program that promotes healthy physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing for staff, which in turn has enhanced performance, mitigated burnout risks and increased both engagement and retention of talent.

The Wellbeing Initiative of the Year recipient received a wellbeing series curated for

their team by workplace wellbeing and performance trends experts, Benny Buton.

Colliers was named Commercial Agency of the Year after achieving outstanding results across all property asset classes in the 2023-24 financial year, investing in strategic campaigns to ensure marketing excellence and innovative solutions for their clients and nurturing a strong and productive team culture.

This year also saw the introduction of a new award, Excellence in Sustainability, which recognises those leading the charge for a sustainable future, through business practices, high-impact sustainable projects or development.

The recipient, The Village in Daylesford by Hygge Property, was inspired by the Victorian town’s natural and heritage landscape.

Including 31 townhouses and communal spaces, the project was created with the aim of reducing carbon emissions during building and operation.

Designed by the sustainable architecture and design firm Breathe, all the homes prioritise passive design principles achieving a minimum 7.5 NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) rating.

The REA Group’s general manager – customer excellence, Amy Read, said the awards

placed a spotlight on individuals’ and teams’ achievements across the industry.

“It’s been another incredible year for the industry, and it was fantastic to get the country’s top agents and agencies together to celebrate their success,” Ms Read said.

“These Excellence Awards help our customers to broaden their reach and win new business – I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to all our finalists and winners.”

The Property Management team of the Year accolade went to Harcourts Solutions, while

Professionals Real Estate received the Contribution to Community award including $10,000 to donate to a charity or not-for-profit organisation of their choosing,

The Game Changer of the Year winner was Stockland’s Dreamcatcher, a technological platform that helps people collate imagery and bring their dream home to life, from browsing design trends to sharing ideas with others.

Affordable housing developer Assemble’s “Imagine less. Experience more” took home the

Integrated Brand Campaign of the Year.

The Most Influential Woman in Property award was won by Queensland and Victorian-based real estate company Coronis’ chief executive Karuna Mazzocchi.

She has driven exceptional improvement in representation and promotion of women in the property industry, fosters diversity and aims to influence and inspire other businesses to recognise biases, and hire and promote based on skills.

Ms Mazzocchi joined Coronis in 2003.

The Rising Star of the Year recipient was Buxton Port Phillip’s Nancy Yang.

Based in Victoria, Ms Yang aims to become the first female auctioneer in Port Melbourne and the first female director at Buxton Port Melbourne.

Ms Yang always goes the extra mile to ensure her clients feel comfortable and well-informed throughout buying and selling.

Her award included a $5000 development grant.

The Support Superstar of the Year award went to DiJones’ operations manager and executive assistant Jessica West, from New South Wales.

Ms West is hands-on and always offers more than expected, to the point of physically helping clients style and prepare their homes.
