The stars of Adelaide’s real estate profession shone bright at last night’s Real Estate Institute of South Australia’s annual Awards for Excellence, with one of the industry’s best recognised for their tireless service.
Lands Real Estate’s Mark Lands was recognised as South Australian residential salesperson of the year, ahead of Klemich Real Estate’s Matt Smith.
Andrew Kyriacou was named the metro local residential salesperson gold award winner, with LJ Hooker Kensington and Unley’s Chrissy Esau taking out the silver, while Fiona Teller of South East Property Sales and Management was crowned regional local residential sales person of the year.
It was a big night for LJ Hooker Commercial Adelaide, which was named best commercial and industrial agency, and commercial and industrial property management agency.
The agency was also awarded best commercial and industrial property manager in Andrew Forte, and South Australian commercial and industrial salesperson in Stanley Tettis.
Toop&Toop Real Estate took home the gold awards for both marketing and communications and large property management agency, while Harris Real Estate was recognised as the state’s best large residential agency.
But the highlight of the night was the presentation of a life membership to industry stalwart, auctioneer Brett Roenfeldt.
The independent auctioneer has been a REISA member for more than 40 years, was the organisation’s former president, is a Sir Robert Torrens Awardee, has won the Golden Gavel and was in 2013 awarded an Order of Australia for his service to the real estate profession.
In presenting Mr Roenfeldt his life membership, board director and Turner Real Estate CEO Emma Slape paid tribute to a man she said was a one-of-a-kind consummate industry professional.
“Many people in this room will give great credit to Brett for making them better agents and better auctioneers,” she said.
“It’s in his DNA to give, support and help.
“Brett always has time for everyone and the respect and genuine affection that the REI membership has collectively for him is well known – tonight it’s our turn to give something back to the great man.”
