All eyes will be on Adelaide’s auction market this weekend, with PropTrack data showing 175 SA homes set to go under the hammer by the end of the weekend.

This is up 61 per cent on last year, highlighting how South Aussies have embraced what real estate agents have touted for years as the most transparent way to buy and sell a home.

And, courtesy of auction streaming and bidding service Gavl, Advertiser subscribers can watch eight auctions live this Saturday.

Tune into the live streams below with auctions beginning from 10am.

AUCTION LIVE STREAMS

According to the data, for homes hitting the auction block between July 25 and July 31, 169 of these are in metro Adelaide, while the other six can be found in regional South Australia.

The biggest suburbs for auctions this week are Fulham Gardens and Hope Valley, each recording five, followed by Mawson Lakes with four and Brighton and Campbelltown with three each.

Ray White national director of special programs Bianca Denham said sellers should consider auction for a variety of reasons.

AUCTION REPLAYS AND RESULTS

“A great auction agent knows they need to build competition and gather as many bidders as possible – this allows magic to happen on auction day,” Ms Denham said.

“Auction has always been regarded as the truest measure of market value and given the results we’re seeing at auction day, 11 per cent above highest offers prior to auction, our sellers are being rewarded.

“Keeping the property in the market for three to four weeks, allows all active buyers to see the property and maximises the competition on auction day.

“We very rarely hear vendors who sell by auction lamenting whether they could have got more, it gives great peace of mind that you have extracted the best money the market will pay.”
