It’s hammer time once again and it looks set to be a busy weekend for househunters.
PropTrack data shows the number of properties scheduled for auction nationally has bounced back this week, with 2423 properties set to hit the market.
Across South Australia, 119 properties are scheduled to go under the hammer, up from 76 scheduled last week. Of the ones lined up for this week, 114 were in metro Adelaide while the other five can be found in regional areas.
Seaton and Two Wells were the state’s top auction suburbs for the week with four homes each going under the hammer over the weekend.
The auction action is set to be equally strong in Athelstone, Bethel and Campbelltown, which are scheduled for two auctions each.
According to PropTrack economist Anne Flaherty, auction activity is predicted to increase over the last two weeks of March, signalling increasing momentum as we head further into the autumn selling season.
“This will provide more choice for buyers who have seen comparatively limited stock over recent months,” Ms Flaherty said.
“Victoria will see the most homes up for auction, with over 1000 currently scheduled. Many vendors delayed selling last week due to the public holidays in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and the ACT, driving auction volumes.”
Of the scheduled auctions this weekend, six auctions will be live streamed right here on Saturday, courtesy of our auction streaming partner Gavl.
