Prince Charles has finally revealed what he thinks of his portrayal on popular Netflix series, The Crown.

The Firm 'concerned' over Royal return of Prince Andrew

Prince Charles has insisted he’s nothing like his character on popular Netflix series The Crown, according to a senior politician who broke protocol by revealing his personal conversation with the royal.

According to Scottish minister Anas Sarwar, Prince Charles said he was “nowhere near” his portrayal on the show, which critics agree is filled with inaccuracies.

Mr Sarwar met the 73-year-old heir to the British throne at the state opening of the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh last October, where he made the comments, according to the New York Post.

Mr Sarwar reportedly said Prince Charles “came over and went, ‘Hello, nice to meet you all. I’m nowhere near how they portray me on Netflix’.”

The politician apparently broke protocol which prevents state politicians from divulging personal conversations with royal family members.

Speaking at an Edinburgh Fringe event, Mr Sarwar said he thought Prince Charles’ comments were a “really interesting way of how you describe yourself”.

He continued: “I’m going to be in so much trouble for this because I don’t think you are meant to tell private conversations.”

Critics have claimed Peter Morgan’s The Crown presented a “distorted and at times downright inaccurate” account of the breakdown of Prince Charles’s marriage to Diana.

Charles’ character was played by Josh O’Connor in Seasons 3 and 4, however Dominic West will take over the role for the final two seasons to portray him in his later years.

Clarence House did not comment.
