US Election Live: Donald Trump and Kamala Harris face off in battleground with duelling rallies
The Donald Trump and Kamala Harris camps are caught in a fresh, bitter fight over ‘anti-war rhetoric’, as a betting whale gambles an eye-watering $46m on one candidate to win.
Welcome to our US Election blog – we are four days out from polling day and Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will square off with duelling rallies in Wisconsin.
Tens of thousands of red and blue team supporters are expected to descend on the swing state, which is essentially deadlocked in a statistical tie with Ms Harris leading Mr Trump by just +0.8 in the aggregate of polls.
It comes as Mr Trump sparked a furore over comments suggesting “war hawk” Republican Liz Cheney face the barrel of a gun to see how she feels about sending Americans into battle. The Harris campaign, which has seized on the comments, will be hoping the news focus will not be short-circuited again by Joe Biden, who will speak in Pennsylvania.
Other key moments in the campaign today include:
■ Liz Cheney slammed ‘tyrant’ Trump for his anti-war rhetoric
■ Joe Biden went into damage control after weak job growth delivered a blow to the Harris campaign
■ The swing state of Georgia warned of Russian election interference
■ Donald Trump sued CBS News seeking $10 billion in damages over its edit of Kamala Harris’ 60 Minutes interview
■ Election guru Nate Silver claimed cheating pollsters were putting their “f-cking finger on the scale”.
