Rare footage of Barron Trump speaking — at age four — has gone viral online after social media users all pointed out the same detail.

Rare footage of Barron Trump speaking, at age four, has gone viral online after social media users pointed out he had his mother’s Slovenian accent.

Donald Trump’s son emerged as the Republican’s secret weapon during the election campaign, masterminding a plan to have his father appear on a series of podcasts targeted at young men.

The towering scion — his height has been reported as either six-foot-seven or six-foot-nine — has emerged as an online sensation in recent months and is often the subject of memes and posts by Trump supporters, including unfounded claims that he has an “IQ of 170”.

But the 18-year-old keeps far out of the public eye, fiercely protected from the limelight by his mother Melania Trump, and virtually no footage exists of youngest Trump speaking.

“This obsession with Barron is hilarious when you consider that the only video we have of him speaking is this,” X user @c1nnamonbunny wrote, sharing an old video of a four-year-old Barron getting ready to go to school for the first time.

“I like my suitcase!” an excited Barron says in a thick Slovenian accent, as his father looks on from behind his desk at Trump Tower.

Barron then asks his mother, “I have to go to school now?”

“‘Yes, first you will have lunch and then you’ll go to school,” Melania says.

His father chimes in, “You can do reading, writing, and arithmetic.”

The clip quickly went viral, racking up more than 9.4 million views. It was originally filmed in 2010 for a special on Larry King Live.

“This video is objectively cute and funny,” the original poster wrote.

“I like you can tell he’s a real mama’s boy because his accent is Melania’s. I wonder when it faded,” another said.

“Does Barron speak with a Slovenian accent even though he was born and raised in New York because of Melania? That’s pretty funny,” one added.

“The fact that he has a Slovenian accent is sending me,” a third wrote.

“That’s so adorable. He sounds like his mom. You can tell she was a very involved mother,” a fourth comment said.

Another agreed, “She had all the money in the world to pass him off to a nanny, but she spent so much time with him that he sounded like her instead of anyone else in his life.”

One user noted the New York University student appears to have lost the accent, sharing a recent clip where Barron can be heard briefly greeting someone.

Barron joined his father on stage on election night at Mar-a-Lago after the President-elect’s stunning victory over Kamala Harris last week.

Reports emerged in the days after the election that Barron had become the unofficial “podcast adviser”, encouraging his father to appear on sit down with figures popular among with Gen Z men including wrestler Logan Paul, streamer Adin Ross and comedians Theo Von and Joe Rogan.

According to Time magazine, campaign manager Susie Wiles had tasked young GOP consultant Alex Bruesewitz in late July with presenting a list of online podcast personalities to help Mr Trump win over young male voters.

Reaching Mr Trump on the golf course the next day, Mr Bruesewitz told the candidate he had a list of podcasts he wanted to suggest.

“Have you talked this over with Barron?” Mr Trump reportedly asked. “Call Barron and see what he thinks and let me know.”
